I like the bosses to be this way. I guess we have to change our playing style. Before it was......kill mob first, bosses last. Now I guess it has to be bosses first, mob last!!!

Sunreach Warmaker, while this guy is tough, his buddies are plain scary because they all come in pair, like 2 warden of earth, 2 warden of spirit etc.
But he do drop a very nice looking shield.

Really though, the only problem I have with it is that it causes henching things to be literally impossible without severely altering your build JUST so that you can fight bosses and not be torn up like paper mache. One of this game's selling points is the ability to AVOID those horrid PUGs and roll with henchies for many things. Traveling from town to town should not be something that requires a Monk with Reversal of Fortune AND Orison of Healing, or a W/Mo with Bane Signet.
|
Agreed. I don't mind a challenge. However, the combination of over powered ele (one hit kill) bosses & the extreme stupidity of henchy res'ing, makes getting passed these bosses extremely frustrating and tedious.
If the bosses are to remain as they are, fine, fix the dang henchy res'ing logic! It is VERY broken as we all know.

There aren't enough people interested in capping elites, thus you have to do it with henches.
However you don't have the slightest chance with henches against bosses like Snapjaw Windshell.
I have no probs with challenging/hard bosses. In Factions though some are more than hard, they are unfair and frustrating...

Kunvie Firewing is funny. Drop a spirit of shelter, pull him into the henchie group and POOF the spirit dies. Around 3 seconds later, the henchies follow, and some indeterminate time period afterwards, so do you.
I believe I can solo him, interestingly enough, though.

Not true, I capped Snapjaw with henchies. It was a pain but I did it.

Snapjaw took me by complete surprise.
On my to the Jade Quarry with my monk and with Hench, I ran into him. During the FPE, he was no problem. This time, henchies engage, I blink, and three henches are down. WTF man?
Then there was that offensive Rit boss right after.

Fun times in Raisu Palace...
In all seriousness however, while I would prefer that ANet made a group of equal level monsters for hard fights rather than single huge bosses, it would be much more difficult to write up the AI for that.
In the meantime, enjoy the big numbers

Back on topic though. If some of those overpowered ele bosses were henchman I would use them more often. There are plenty of threads about ele's not doing enough damage, and then you come up on one of these bosses and are like WTFBBQ!?

Bosses should be challenging but they also need to be balanced.

This is funny because normal Shadow Archers in FoW hit me for 100+ with barrage already.
I got advanced skill hunter with henchies, ele bosses just take some domination magic and interrupts, and they die.
